Create Free WiFi HotSpot with your Android Device

Android operating system, starting from Android Froyo 2.1, has allows you to create wifi hotspot with your android device. By setting it up as a wifi hotspot, you can share your data connection on your Android phone for free with up to 5 other wifi devices, including PC, laptops, tablets, and other smartphones.
Creating a wifi hotspot is very simple, what you have to do is just turn the feature on in your phone, and then the wifi signal will appear just like a regular wireless access point that your device can connect to. Here are the steps on how to create a portable wifi hotspot on an android phone (Samsung Galaxy Y):
1. Go to Settings -> Wireless and Networks

2. Select ‘Tethering and portable hotspot’

3. Select ‘Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings’ and tap ‘Configure portable Wi-Fi hotspot’.

4. Popup menu will open, tap on ‘Security’ and select ‘WPA2 PSK’
5. In Password text box, type your desired password.
6. You can change ‘Network SSID’ if you wish then click ‘Save’.

7. Once done, Check Portable Wi-fi hotspot to turn it on.

8. Now test on your PC or laptop, searching for available WiFi networks. If everything is setup correctly, you should see your Android hotspot name in the list.
Note: Since this can drain your phone’s battery significantly, so make sure to turn off the Wi-Fi hotspot feature when you’re no longer needed it.
